Vizum

POS, catalog, and lead-capture platform for optical retailers. Originally built in 2018 for Óticas Girêh, now productized and renamed as Vizum. Current stack: Next.js, TailwindCSS, tRPC, and PostgreSQL.

I grew up inside an optical store — my family's business. I served customers, organized inventory, did a bit of everything. I saw firsthand how much paper, scattered spreadsheets and loose notes the day-to-day ran on: lost orders, forgotten services, payments no one was really tracking.

In 2019, with a background in technology and years of living that reality, I started building Vizum. Not as a side project, but as the tool my family's store actually needed. Something simple that genuinely covered the day-to-day, without the unnecessary complexity of generic ERPs.

Vizum was built alongside its users. Every feature came from a real need, heard directly from the people behind the counter. In 2023 I rebuilt the system from scratch with modern technology and an obsession with simplicity.

Today Vizum is an all-in-one POS and CRM for optical retailers, built on Next.js and PostgreSQL. It covers the full retail workflow — sales, inventory, production, catalog, customer records and finance — and ships with an AI assistant, electronic invoice (NFe) emission, and smart reminders. Two pieces I'm particularly proud of under the hood: a feature-gating system tied to subscription plans, and a Stripe-driven billing layer that powers the whole commercial side of the product.

Vizum is live today with real optical stores betting on it. The bet is on the niche: optical retail is specific enough that a generic ERP always leaves gaps — and that gap is exactly what Vizum fills. Address every process, with simplicity: that's the principle guiding every decision. Optical stores deserve a tool made for them, and that's what we're building.
